MOREHEAD CITY, NC–The Morehead City Marlins’ (15-3) 10-game win streak comes to an end after an 11-3 loss to the Wilmington Sharks (13-6).
Matt Hubbard had his first start on the mound this season. He went for two innings before being relieved by Nuno Parache. Parache went for two innings as well, only allowing one hit and recording two strikeouts.
Joey Calabretti pitched for the second time this season, giving up a hit and a run in his inning of work.
Brandon Carter came in for 1.2 innings, allowing no hits and three strikeouts. Tyler Deluzio and Jovan Gill finished out the game, each going for an inning.
Gill and Bray Touchstone were the only Marlins to record multiple hits, each recording two. Sebastian Mexico recorded two rbi’s, both of which scored Russo, and Zach Greenberg recorded the other.
The Marlins will hit the road tomorrow for a matchup against the Peninsula Pilots (6-11). First pitch is slated for 7pm, and pregame coverage will begin at 6:45 on Mixlr.
