MOREHEAD CITY, NC–The Marlins defeated the Virginia Beach Valor 6-1 in their second exhibition matchup of the season. 

Morehead City sent out an interesting outfield duo of pitchers Tyler DeLuzio and Nuno Parache. Both of them recorded singles and threw an inning on the mound. Parache gave up one run, while DeLuzio retired the side and finished the game with a strikeout. 

Braxton Thomas drove in the first runs of the game with a two-RBI double in the bottom of the first inning. 

Diego Diaz recorded a double and a two-RBI single in four plate appearances. Peyton Watts and Ethan Dillon finished the game with singles and each scored a run. 

Bryce Nicolay had a good start on the mound, going for two innings, one hit, and five strikeouts. Kole Hopkins allowed two hits, no runs, and a strikeout in his one inning of work. 

Connor Brady made his debut, striking out two batters in one inning. 

Drew Wedgeworth also pitched an inning, where he struck out the side.

The Marlins will host the Wilmington Sharks tomorrow night at Big Rock Stadium. First pitch is at 6:30pm. Fans can watch the game on Home Team Network, with pregame coverage starting at 6:15pm.
