Morehead City, NC- The Morehead City Marlins had trouble in all facets that led to their 8-3 loss against the Wilmington Sharks at Big Rock Stadium.
Mason Landers, Wilmington’s first baseman, got the Sharks on the board early with a three run homer in the top of the first.
Starting pitcher Matt Lozovoy settled on and ended up going four innings with the only blemish the big fly allowed.
In the bottom of the sixth the Fish got a run back, and tied the game at 3 in the seventh thanks to a two run homerun from Mason Maners that was tattooed over the right field fence.
The top of the eighth inning is where things fell apart for the Marlins as the Sharks plated five runs thanks to some poor fielding and lack of control on the mound.
Morehead City will aim to get back in the win column tomorrow night at Peninsula in the last game before the all star break.
