MOREHEAD CITY, NC–The Morehead City Marlins (11-2) remain undefeated in their home Big Rock Stadium against the Zebulon Devil Dogz (2-12) with a 7-2 victory.

The Marlins worked six different arms across the nine innings, giving the start to Bryce Nicolay. He went for two scoreless innings, allowing two hits and striking out one.

Joey Calabretti, Drew Wedgeworth, and Tyler DeLuzio followed, each making their pitching debut this season for the Fish. Wedgeworth earned the win with two innings recorded, allowing four hits and two runs, striking out one.

Ryan Jackson and John Gray finished off the job with three scoreless innings combined. The bullpen once again shined under the lights, further proving why they’re the best in the Coastal Plain League this season.

Jovan Gill, Jon Howard, and Logan Lowe all had two hits on the evening, and were eventually brought around to score for five of the Marlins seven runs tonight.

Diego Diaz also recorded his first hit for Morehead City with an RBI single in his first at-bat with the team.

The Marlins will enjoy some much needed rest tomorrow before hosting the Holly Springs Salamanders on Wednesday at Big Rock. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30pm. Fans can watch the live stream on Home Team Network, with pregame coverage starting at 6:15pm.
