The Morehead City Marlins traveled to Wilmington for a double-header and split games, playing the rest of a nine inning game that was rained out in the bottom of the fourth and a seven inning game for the regularly scheduled game.
The first game picked up in the bottom of the fourth inning with the Marlins holding a 6-2 lead thanks to three run first and third innings.
The fourth inning was quiet for both teams, but the Marlins capitalized on wild pitches from the Sharks and a double from Bray Touchstone to score two runs.
After recording two quick outs, the Sharks recorded five straight hits, three singles and two doubles, cutting the deficit to two.
After plating an extra run in the ninth, the Marlins pitching staff in John Grey and Sage Ferguson shut down the Sharks, only seeing 10 batters in three innings.
The Marlins secured the first game of the double header 9-6.
Morehead City struggled at the plate in the second game, only recording three hits.
Jakob Haynes and Jovan Gill made the most of their single hits, hitting home runs over the left and right field fences.

A couple errors defensively contributed to the loss as well.
