MARLINS REEL IN A BIG FISH AS THEIR NEW DIRECTOR OF MARKETING AND PROMOTIONS

Morehead City, NC – The Morehead City Marlins continue their off-season renovations and overhaul by proudly announcing the hiring of Alaina Alberico to be their new Director of Marketing and Promotions.

In her role, Alaina will oversee the marketing, promotions, branding, merchandise, community engagement and overall fan experience inside of Big Rock Stadium. This will not be a role unfamiliar to Alaina, as she has spent the past two seasons with the Lafayette Aviators baseball team, in the Prospect League. Alaina began her career with Aviators in 2023, as a Social Media & Management Intern. She quickly rose up the ranks, taking over as the Social Media Manager during the 2023 season. Alaina stayed on with the Aviators full time after the 2023 season, as the Social Media & Community Outreach Manager. It did not take long for her to impress, as she was quickly promoted to the Director of Marketing & Promotions just a few short months later. And she did all this while finishing her senior year at Columbia College, in Chicago.

Alaina’s achievements with the Aviators were countless. She boosted their social media followings by over 39% in less than a year. From launching a mascot Instagram, YouTube and TikTok channels that hit it big with younger crowds, to designing game-day experiences that kept fans coming back for more, Alaina covered all the bases to ensure the Aviators shined online and on the field.

“I’m excited to bring my vast knowledge of marketing, branding and fan engagement to Morehead City,” said Alberico. “The experience that I have gained in this industry so far, coupled with the energy and excitement that [Marlins Owner] Buddy [Bengel] has, make this a true dream team that is ready to take the Marlins to the next level.”

“We are very excited about the addition of Alaina to the Marlins’ front office staff,” said Team President, David Krakower. “Alaina brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in both the marketing and promotions side of the business that will help take the Marlins to the next level when it comes to fan engagement, both at the stadium and in the community.”

Alaina joins new Team President, Krakower, among the off-season front office overhaul. Add this to the multi-million dollar renovations taking place at Big Rock Stadium this off-season, and the Marlins have already knocked it out of the park, long before the 2025 season has even begun.

The 2025 Home Opener for the Morehead City Marlins is set for Friday, May 30, 2025. For more information on the Marlins, please visit https://mhcmarlins.com/
