In an early submission for Game of the Year in the Coastal Plain League, the Wilmington Sharks walk-off the Marlins with a final score of 2-1 in the 12th inning. This was the second matchup of the Chum Bucket Challenge sponsored by EmergeOrtho as the Sharks even up the season series one to one. The Sharks improve to 7-3 on the season, while the Marlins fall to 6-4.

Unbelievable pitching occurred on both sides tonight, as the game was scoreless, entering into the 12th frame. Ryan Bailey turned in a phenomenal start going five and a third innings while only allowing three hits and two walks. Jack Decker was the first out of the bullpen and went a stellar three scoreless frames, giving up just one baserunner on an infield single while striking out four.

Jay Allmer also had a strong bullpen arm, striking out the two batters he faced in the ninth, while also tossing a scoreless tenth starting with runners on first and second. Joe Miceli was given a tough loss giving up just one earned run over an inning and two thirds.

Luke Scales drove in the lone run for the fish with a single in the top of the twelfth in right field to drive home Brandon Scheurer. Casey Kleinman was terrific defensively behind the plate in his Marlins debut, throwing out three runners on the base paths and tagging out two runners as well.

It was an extremely tough loss for the Marlins after an epic pitchers duel from Buck Hardee Field. The Fish will be back in play at Big Rock Stadium tomorrow night for the official start of Motor Boaters baseball. First pitch against the Wilson Tobs is at 6:30p.m.
