Morehead City, NC – The Morehead City Marlins have added the final piece to their front office puzzle, adding a familiar name to the team. Jay Garner, who worked for the Marlins in 2024 as a General Intern returns to the team as the team’s Director of Operations & Group Sales. In his role, he will bring his Operations experience from last season to run the Operations Department for the Marlins in 2025. Additionally, Garner will be responsible for selling group tickets and premium party areas at the stadium.
“We are extremely excited about having Jay Garner as part of our team,” said Team President, David Krakower. “Jay’s experience working for the Marlins last summer, as well as his tireless work ethic and love for this franchise make him the ideal person for this role with the Marlins.”
Garner just graduated from the University of North Carolina, earning his degree in Exercise & Sport Science, with a concentration in Sports Administration. Last season, his internship with the Marlins allowed him to work in many different facets for the Fish. Not only did he handle facility operations, but Garner also handled team stats on PointStreak and worked in the concession stand as well.
He brings with him several years of experience working in sports, working at UNC’s Campus Recreation Center as a program assistant.
Garner is a native of Eastern North Carolina. He grew up in Greenville, and now resides in Morehead City.
