Wilson, NC- In a back and forth affair the Morehead City Marlins were defeated 9-7 by the Wilson Tobs at Fleming Stadium.
Trailing 1-0 the Marlins struck for three runs in the top of the 2nd to take the lead due to a Sean Johnson double and RBI groundout off the bat of Mason Maners.
Wilson would score the next four runs to take back the lead 5-3 heading to the fifth inning.
In the fifth Morehead City regained the advantage thanks to a four run inning, highlighted by two run hits from Luke Powell and Braeden O’Shaugnessy.
Despite leading by two runs and having a dominant bullpen the Marlins faltered in the final frames as the Tobs scored four unanswered and secured the 9-7 victory.
The Marlins return home to Big Rock Stadium to duel with the Peninsula Pilots at 7:00.
