In the game that was supposed to decide the champion of the 2nd half of the CPL East, The Marlins and Peninsula Pilots got stormed out on Saturday night at The Rock in the middle of the 3rd inning in a scoreless ballgame. MHC finishes the 2021 regular season with a 29-14 record, and a home record of 18-3.
With the cancellation of the game, the Marlins are the champions of the 2nd half in the East by virtue of their 3-2 win over the Pilots back on July 22 in the only meeting of the half between the two. Peninsula still secured home field advantage in the East Divisional Playoff series, which starts tomorrow night at War Memorial Stadium in Hampton, VA.
Game two will be back at The Rock on Monday night, and those that had tickets to tonight’s game will be able to exchange them for tickets to the home playoff game on Monday (August 2).
