MOREHEAD CITY, N.C.–The Morehead City Marlins have announced the hiring of Brianna Miller as the new Director of Operations, rounding out the new front office staff entering 2023. Miller will oversee multiple functions within the Marlins organization, including all stadium operations, merchandise, and social media management.

“We are truly excited Brianna has joined our team and know that she will help bring an increased level of expertise to many areas within the Marlins operation,” General Manager Dave Lipay said. “Her experience within the Coastal Plain League as a member of the Holly Springs staff last year will only pay dividends for us as we begin the next chapter for the Marlins here in Morehead City.”

Miller enters her first year with the Marlins after graduating in December 2022 with a Master’s of Science in Strategic Leadership from the University of Charleston (UC) in West Virginia. At UC, Miller served as the Director of Baseball Operations and Chief of Staff for the baseball program, while also working in the Athletics Communications department.

Last summer, Miller interned as a Marketing Trainee with the Holly Springs Salamanders, another member of the Coastal Plain League (CPL). While with the Salamanders, Miller was involved in much of the gameday experience, assisting with not only marketing efforts, but media operations, video board graphics, promotional games and website maintenance.

“I couldn’t ask for more than to be able to return to the CPL in a full-time role with an organization like the Marlins, who have been so successful over the years,” Miller said. “I am thankful for the opportunity to continue to build upon what the Marlins have achieved and look forward to a fun season in Morehead City!”

During her undergraduate years, Miller spent three years as a baseball student manager at Eastern Mennonite University (EMU) in Harrisonburg, Virginia. As manager, she served as the social media coordinator, assisted with field set-up, data collection and entry, and handled video production under the direction of the Royals’ coaching staff.

Miller received her bachelor’s degree in Marketing, with minors in Human Resource Management and Journalism from EMU. At EMU, she was a four-year member of the field hockey program as a forward and midfielder, achieving four-time All-ODAC Academic Team status and qualifying for the National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-Academic Squad.

Miller now calls Morehead City home, where she enjoys running and the beach, hopeful to take advantage of everything the Crystal Coast has to offer!
