STATEMENT FROM THE OWNER

MOREHEAD CITY, NC – Buddy Bengel issued the following regarding the status of Big Rock Stadium ahead of the 2026 season:

As Opening Day approaches, we want to be transparent with our tans, partners, and community about what to expect at Big Rock Stadium this summer.

Big Rock Stadium is currently undergoing renovations led by Morehead City.

While significant progress has been made, the project will not be completed before Opening Day. The Marlins are fully prepared to open the season on May 29th.

Fans attending games this summer should know that the ballpark will operate at reduced capacity, with some areas inaccessible due to active construction. Entry points, traffic flow, and certain amenities will be reconfigured as work continues.

We will share updates on what fans can expect before Opening Day so no one shows up with any surprises.

We are disappointed that our fans will not see the fully renovated Big Rock Stadium on day one. But here is what we know for certain. The Crystal Coast has never seen a summer like the one we are about to deliver. The energy, the competition, the atmosphere, the late nights under the lights at Big Rock Stadium are not going anywhere. If anything, we are more motivated than ever to make every single game night one that our fans will talk about long after the season ends. We cannot wait to see you at the games.

The Morehead City Marlins open the 2026 season at home on Friday, May 29 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available at www.mhcmarlins.com. For updates, follow the Marlins across all official channels.
