Morehead City Set To Host Wilson In Regional Championship Game

Morehead City, N.C. – The Morehead City Marlins (35-14) will host the Wilson Tobs (23-23) in the North-East Regional Championship game of the Petitt Cup Playoffs on Tuesday night Big Rock Stadium with first pitch scheduled for 7:05.

The Marlins advanced on Sunday night after 16-inning marathon game, defeating the Fayetteville SwampDogs 7-6. The Wilson Tobs upset the higher-seeded Peninsula Pilots, 4-3, on the road to reach the second round. Morehead City holds a 2-1 record against the Tobs this summer.

In the franchise's nine-year history the team now holds a 2-3 record in post season play and have reached the second round for the first time ever. Tuesday's contest will mark the third time the Marlins have hosted a playoff game.
