The Morehead City Marlins - back-to-back champions of the Coastal Plain League - formally announce the 2021 schedule and ticket plans.
Marlins baseball will officially make its return to Big Rock Stadium after a one-year absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Marlins will play 50 games during the season, including 44 in the Coastal Plain League and six exhibition games against various opponents.
The Town of Morehead City, the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament, and the Marlins have announced a high school fall baseball league at Big Rock Stadium starting September 21st. The league will consist of High School eligible players from Carteret County and the surrounding areas and will play on Monday and Wednesday nights.
On Wednesday, the Coastal Plain League announced that the start of the 2020 season would be pushed back until July 1st. The defending Coastal Plain League champions will now begin their quest for a third consecutive title on Wednesday, July 1st at home.
Morehead City N.C.- Big Rock Stadium sees the Coastal Plain League (CPL) game of the year in a trilling 13-12 Morehead City Marlins (22-7) win over the Peninsula Pilots (13-13). The win gives the Marlins the longest win streak in CPL history at 14 games, surpassing the 2004 Edenton Steamers team.
